BANGKOK - August 28, 2026 – Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited, a global leader in power management and smart green solutions, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) to advance the IEAT–DELTA Samutprakan Sandbox, a collaborative initiative designed to serve as a model for systematic workforce development by connecting education with employment and strengthening education industry cooperation in Samut Prakan.
The initiative brings together IEAT, Delta Thailand, local government agencies, educational institutions and communities surrounding Bangpoo Industrial Estate. By connecting local schools with leading universities, it aims to establish clear pathways from learning to careers, enhance the capabilities of local youth and develop future-ready talent aligned with the evolving needs of industry.
Mr. Victor Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL., said, “When we discuss industrial development, we often focus on investment, technology and infrastructure. But sustainable growth must depend on people, particularly whether young people have the right knowledge, skills and opportunities to participate in that growth. For Delta, this is the highest purpose of the IEAT–DELTA Samutprakan Sandbox."
“Many young people live close to industrial zones but may not understand the careers available, the skills employers require or how their education connects to future opportunities. By bringing schools, universities, government, communities and industry together, we can help students explore career options, develop the right skills and make more informed decisions about their future.” Mr. Cheng added.
Dr. Sumet Tangprasert, Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, said, “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Delta Thailand for sharing IEAT’s vision of building a stronger ecosystem around Thailand’s industrial estates and for its commitment to this partnership. Through IEAT’s network of educational institutions, the collaboration aims to expand internships, company visits, knowledge sharing and curriculum enhancement. We believe today’s MOU marks the beginning of long-term cooperation that can generate local employment, stimulate economic growth and create lasting value for communities surrounding industrial estates.”
On Delta’s side, the initiative is led by Mr. Yongyuth Pakdoungjan, Senior Director of the Government and Public Affairs Department at Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL., who works closely with IEAT and participating partners to coordinate its implementation.
To further strengthen the academic network supporting the initiative, Delta also signed Letters of Intent with Kasetsart University and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. The agreements provide a framework for future collaboration on talent development and closer engagement between higher education and industry.
The IEAT–DELTA Samutprakan Sandbox builds on Delta’s ongoing education and workforce development programs, including Delta Academy, scholarships, internships, technical training, and power electronics and automation laboratories at leading Thai universities.
This year, Delta opened its Industrial Automation Training Center to provide vocational students with practical training in industrial automation technologies. The company also conducts the NEXTGEN Megatrends program, which introduces local secondary school students enrolled in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs to emerging technologies, industry trends and related career opportunities.
