What is Delta Cup?

Delta Cup 2026 is a regional engineering innovation challenge by Delta Electronics Thailand, designed to bridge academic knowledge with real-world industrial applications.

For the first time, the competition expands across Southeast Asia and Australia, bringing together the next generation of engineers to create solutions under the theme “Smart Power, Intelligent Systems, Sustainable Future.”

With two tracks Energy and Automation participants will gain hands-on experience, mentorship from industry experts, and the opportunity to showcase their ideas on a regional stage.

Who can Apply?

  • Open to university Engineering students (Bachelor’s & Master’s degree) in Southeast Asia & Australia
  • All participants must be currently enrolled students at the time of application
  • Each team shall consist of a maximum of 4 members. (An academic advisor is optional)
  • Each participant is allowed to join only one team

Frequently Asked Question

Q: Who can participate?

A: Full-time undergraduate or graduate students from the Universities in Southeast Asia and Australia. Teams must consist of 4 members (An academic advisor is optional).​

Q: How do I participate?

A: Submit your team’s “Expression of Interest” via our official Pre-registration Link. Once the application is opened , you will receive e-mail for the submission portal or follow our social media channel for further update.​

Q: What is the project limit?

A: One project per team. However, a university may sponsor multiple teams across various categories to maximize their institutional representation.

Q: How many rounds are there, and how do they differ?

A: Round 1: Semi-Final Round (Virtual Pitching) | August – September 2026

What to expect: Shortlisted teams from the preliminary screening will present their project proposals online. This round includes a live Q&A session with industry experts to evaluate the technical viability of each project.

Round 2: Regional Final Phase | September – November 2026

2.1 Senior Referee Review (September – October 2026): An advanced online technical evaluation conducted by our senior referee panel to assess the engineering soundness and feasibility of the shortlisted projects.

2.2 Regional Final Round (November 14, 2026): The top 20 finalist teams will advance to the grand finale at True Digital Park. Teams will showcase a live demonstration of their physical prototypes and Q&A from the judging panel

Q: Do I need a working prototype?

A: For the Preliminary round, a conceptual design and photograph/video as evidence is sufficient. However, for the Regional Final, a functional prototype or a high-fidelity physical demonstration is mandatory to prove industrial application.​

Q: What are the key deliverables?

A: Including 3 outputs,​
Technical Proposal Report: A formal engineering paper detailing the design, methodology, and efficiency metrics.​

Presentation & Poster: A visual summary designed for both expert judges and executive branding.​

Prototype/Demonstration: A physical model (max weight 7kg for international air travel compliance) or digital simulation.​

Q: What are the judges looking for?

A: Scoring is based on Innovation & Creativity , Technical Feasibility, Impact & Sustainability , Presentation & Communication . We value solutions that solve real-world problems in Automation and Power Electronics.​

Q: Do I keep the rights to my project?

A: Yes. Participants retain ownership of their Intellectual Property. However, by participating, you grant Delta Electronics a non-exclusive license to use project photographs, videos, and summaries for promotional, educational, and branding purposes.
