Delta Welcomes FIBO Founder to Share Ideas on Thai Automation Industry Development

Samutprakarn, Thailand, April 24, 2019- Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. welcomed Dr. Djitt Laowattana, Founder Director of Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO), to the Delta headquarters at Samutprakarn. Dr. Djitt is a renowned academic and pioneer of Thailand’s robotic sector who founded FIBO, at King Mongkut’s University of Technology, to foster Thailand’s future robotics leaders. He also serves on the boards of major Thai companies and as Executive Advisor on the committee of the Robotics Cluster of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

Mr. Hsieh Shen-yen, Delta President, welcomed Dr. Djitt to Delta and invited him to discuss the trends, challenges and opportunities for automation in Thailand’s industrial sector. Dr. Djitt thanked Delta for supporting FIBO students with practical automation training and expressed his desire to collaborate further with the company to bolster Thailand’s robotics sector and spur the nation’s economic growth. He also shared his vision to work with Delta to create more automation and training centers in the EEC.

Mr. Johnny Tam, Delta’s Senior Business Development Director, then gave Dr. Djitt a tour of the factory which included the highly-automated Delta Smart Manufacturing (DSM) production lines, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) industrial automation management system, rooftop solar energy solutions and data center.

After the tour, Mr. Kasemson Kreuatorn, Delta’s Senior Regional Manager for Industrial Automation, explained in detail how Delta’s unique Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions combine DIACloud communications, control and field devices for factory process and building management. Finally, Delta and Dr. Djitt had a sharing session to exchange ideas on how to work together on the implementation and refinement of industrial automation in Thailand.
