Delta Signs MOU With Burapha University for Industrial Automation Training

Chonburi, Thailand, December 16, 2019 - Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. signed an MOU with Burapha University for partnership and collaboration to develop the Faculty of Engineering student’s skills in robotics, automation systems, IoT, electronics and embedded systems at the Delta Industrial Automation Lab.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Jackie Chang, Vice President of Delta Electronics Southeast Asia and India, said, “Delta is pioneering automation education in Thailand’s universities. We’re excited to work with Burapha University to bring the Delta Automation Academy to the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). We’re also proud to open the first Delta Industrial Automation Lab in Chonburi today and look forward to fostering Thailand’s next generation of local engineering talents to support the Thailand 4.0 development policy.”

The milestone partnership marks the first time for Delta to offer its advanced automation training program to a university in the EEC zone which includes the three industrialized eastern provinces of Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong. Students at Burapha University’s Faculty of Engineering can train with 12 advanced automation training kits donated by Delta at the new Delta Industrial Automation Lab. Besides the equipment, Delta’s Industrial Automation experts conducted a five-day training course for the faculty professors in: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Variable Frequency Drive (VDF), servo motors/drives and system integration.

Burapha University plays a key role in training skilled manpower and engineering talent to meet the strong demand from manufacturers in the EEC zone. Delta will work with the Faculty of Engineering to support the student’s professional growth and future job opportunities in advanced engineering.

The Delta Automation Academy has already trained around 800 Thai engineering students and accepted another 200 trainees this year. Delta has set up Delta Automation Labs in Thailand’s top universities including: Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and King Mongkut's University of Technology campuses in North Bangkok and in Thonburi.

Every year, Delta sponsors Thai Delta Automation Academy students to compete against elite students from Taiwan, China, India, Europe and Vietnam at the international Delta Cup. Delta’s commits to developing Thai engineering talent to drive the country’s industrial and economic growth and deliver on its brand promise: Smarter. Greener. Together.
