Bangkok, Thailand, January 24, 2024–Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. received the Gold Star and Green Star Awards at the Sustainability Awards 2023 by the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT). This is the eighth consecutive year for Delta Thailand factories in Bangpoo Industrial Estate, Samutprakarn Province and the sixth consecutive year for Delta Thailand factories in Wellgrow Industrial Estate, Chachoengsao Province, to win the Green Star Award and qualifies the company to also receive the Gold Star Award for both locations.
Dr. Veeris Ammarapala, Governor of the IEAT, presented the Environmental Good Governance Flag and Certificate of Honor for 2023 Delta and other outstanding factories in Thailand’s industrial estates. Speaking at the event, Mr. Yongyuth Pakdoungjan, Delta Senior Director of Government and Public Affairs Department, said, “Delta is honored to receive this prestigious recognition from the IEAT. Delta’s sustainable development strategy considers all environment, social and governance aspects equally and impacts how we conduct business and CSR actions that help our communities and environment.”
In 2023, 154 factories in 32 industrial estates received Green Star Awards for good to excellent environmental management and performance assessment results. Meanwhile, 39 factories in 8 industrial estates received Gold Star Awards for passing the assessment criteria with good to excellent results for six consecutive years.
Since 2007, the IEAT has implemented the Environmental Good Governance Project with Green Star Awards to encourage factories in industrial estates to adhere to the principles of good governance in environmental management.
The project aims to enhance participation between the public sector and entrepreneurs to ensure efficient management according to standardized criteria by presenting a flag with a green star symbol for factories that have excellent performance evaluation results five specific aspects. This award shows Delta Thailand’s excellence in all aspects: Physical, Economics, Environment, Social and Management.
