Delta and Thai Marine Police Donate Blood to Support Siriraj Hospital

Samutprakarn, Thailand, May 12, 2020–Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. and the Thai Marine Police Division held a joint blood donation activity to support Siriraj Hospital. A total of 93 volunteers from Delta and the marine police forces donated blood for the Siriraj Hospital blood bank at the Thai Marine Police Division in Samutprakarn.

Current restrictions on movement and social distancing measures to curb the spread COVID-19, is dramatically reducing the number of blood donors in Thailand. Siriraj Hospital requested Delta’s assistance for A and B group blood donations because the company has a large healthy workforce with no cases of COVID-19 infections and a long-term program for regular blood donations.

Delta partnered with the Thai Marine Police Division to meet Siriraj Hospital’s urgent request for help to resupply its blood bank. Siriraj Hospital is the oldest and largest hospital in Thailand and one of the busiest medical centers in Southeast Asia. It is the primary teaching hospital of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

Delta supports Thailand’s medical workers and hospitals in their fight against COVID-19. The company recently donated protective face shields and funds to purchase protective equipment at the Samutprakan Hospital. Delta also donated 10,500 DC brushless blowers to support the development and production of a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Thailand’s frontline COVID-19 medical personnel.
