Samutprakarn, Thailand, April 4, 2018- Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. welcomed 15 representatives of the PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) led by Mr. Saksri Ngernklom, Government and Industrial Marketing Development Division Manager, to explore Delta’s latest EV charging solutions at the company’s Samutprakarn headquarters. The SET-listed oil and gas giant PTT is one of the largest corporations in Thailand. The company is seeking potential partners to boost its mass supply capacity, strengthen supply chains and bolster its EV stations with hi-technology.
Mr. Kittisak Ngoenngokngam, Delta SEA Business Director, welcomed the delegation and introduced the company, highlighting Delta best-in-class automotive electronics, used by global top-tier car brands, and its large-scale EV charging installations around the world. After the presentation, the delegation explored Delta’s extensive product and solutions portfolio including Delta AC EV Mini Charger at the Delta showroom. In addition, Delta and PTT discussed their plans to develop the EV industry in Thailand.
Since 2012, PTT has completed four demo and EV charging stations and plans to have 20 EV stations open within this year as part of its PTT Green Roadmap. PTT EV charging stations are at PTT Research and Technology Institute in Ayutthaya, the Crystal Mall in Nonthaburi, PTT Station at Laem Chabang and PTT head office in Bangkok. PTT forecasts the number of EV’s on Thai roads to reach 1.2 million and fossil fuel usage to decrease 30% (from 2010 levels) by 2036. The EV industry is a key focus in Delta’s sustainable growth strategy, which targets to have 30% of its consolidated revenue derived from power and energy optimization products in sectors including EV, Solar, Datacenter and Industrial Automation by 2020. Delta collaborates with government institutions to develop EV charging infrastructure. In 2017, Delta held EV seminars with Thailand Automotive Institute (TAI) and donated its state-of-the-art 50kW DC Quick EV Charger to the TAI Technology and Innovation Learning Center for EV in Bangpoo.
Delta leverages its core competencies in power management and welcomes collaboration with government institutions and top state enterprises to drive innovation in green energy solutions for the country. Delta and PTT will continue to strengthen their partnership to develop Thailand’s EV infrastructure industry.
