Bangkok, Thailand, July 9, 2018-Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. supported a high-level Tamil Nadu Government delegation visit to attract Thai investment to the South Indian province. The Tamil Nadu Government selected Delta as an outstanding Thailand-based investor to support its promotion activities in Thailand. Bangkok is the delegation’s first stop on its mission to Southeast Asia, China and Taiwan. The mission’s main aim is to attract international companies and investors to Tamil Nadu’s Global Investors Meet (GIM) scheduled to take place at the Chennai Trade Centre January 23-24, 2019.
As part of its support, Delta arranged the delegation’s “Investing in Tamil Nadu” seminar at the Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok. In the opening ceremony, Mr. Bhagwant Singh Bishnoi, Indian Ambassador to Thailand welcomed over 40 attendees from Thai-based companies and thanked Delta for organizing the event. Mr. Anusorn Muttaraid, Delta Executive Director, then shared Delta’s key successes in India and the company’s growth in Tamil Nadu since establishing a factory at Hosur in 2016. Tamil Nadu’s smart city development projects and aggressive implementation of renewable energy aligns well with Delta’s expansion of green mobility and energy businesses.
To entice investors and ease entry for multinationals and foreign SMEs, the Tamil Nadu Government offers land in industrial parks and SEZs, structured incentives, comprehensive infrastructure and a single window fast-track approval for business. Mr. M.S. Shanmugam, Special Secretary of Industries, said there is no need to hire consulting as the Tamil Guidance Bureau offers comprehensive support and tailor-made incentive packages.
