Samutprakarn, Thailand, May 4, 2018- Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. welcomed the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) delegation to the Delta headquarters at Samutprakarn. The MDES’s current vision is to encourage Thailand’s industry sectors to use digital technology to drive the country’s economy and society within the next five years. Mr. Hsieh Shen-yen, Delta President, and Mr. Anusorn Muttaraid, Delta Executive Director, welcomed Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society Minister, and seven delegates to explore how Delta’s smart green solutions can support the MDES’s strategic goals of Smart Network, Smart Government, Smart Business and Smart People in Thailand.
Delta management introduced Delta’s achievements in industrial automation and energy saving management. Mr. Kasemson Kreuatorn, Delta’s Senior Regional Manager for industrial automation, highlighted how the company harnesses the DIACloud internet communications and 3G internet routers to carry out the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in its automated production. After the presentations, Mr. Hsieh led Dr. Pichet and the MDES delegation on a tour to showcase how Delta leverages its state-of-the-art data center solutions to control the entire plant’s eco-efficient operations. Dr. Pichet showed strong interest in how Delta’s rooftop PV solutions help with energy savings in the plant’s production and building systems.
After the tour, the visitors explored Delta’s extensive product and solutions portfolio at the company showroom that can seamlessly integrate for Smart City applications. Delta and MDES then held an open discussion. Dr. Pichet said the Thai government’s key focus is to boost innovation and training for skilled manpower needed to usher in the Thailand 4.0 era. He acknowledged that enacting government policies requires sustainable talent development and expressed his appreciation for the Delta Automation Academy and Delta Cup programs that focus on driving innovation and fostering talent at top Thai universities.
In addition, Dr. Pichet said MDES is focusing on harnessing the Internet of Things (IoT) to set up Smart Cities around Thailand. To bring about the nation’s digital transformation, the government’s ministries need data center solutions and countrywide digital infrastructure. He said the MDES looks forward to working with the private sector to bridge the gap between demand and supply of talent. Delta management expressed the company’s willingness to support the government’s goals, which align with its commitment to provide smarter and greener solutions for a better society in Thailand.
