Bangkok, Thailand, September 28, 2017 - Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. received the Eco Factory Award 2017 at the Eco Innovation Forum 2017. Dr. Somchai Hanhirun, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Industry, presented the award to Mr. Pitisook Jitkasem, Delta’s Senior Manager for General Administration. The award recognizes factories with balanced approach to economic, environmental and social aspects according to the sustainable development framework for Eco Industrial Town which is a major driver for Thai industries toward Thailand 4.0 era. The event was jointly organized by the Industrial Environmental Institute and The Federation of Thai Industries, at BITEC Bangna Exhibition and Convention Center.
Delta won the Eco Factory Award for its balanced and effective sustainable development practices in its operation, production process and ecosystem. The award’s assessment comprised of 14 topics: Raw material usage, Energy landscape, Transportation and logistics, Green supply chain, Green Landscape, Chemical and Hazard Management, Water and Polluted Water Management, Green House Effect Emission, Air Pollution Management, Waste Management, Employee’s Health and Safety, Biodiversity, Income Distribution to the Communities and Harmonious Living with the Communities. Due to the company’s large workforce in Thailand, Delta has been a part of the country’s eco industrial development and sustainable growth for many years.
