Delta Participates in TGO Carbon Business Indicator Seminar

Bangkok, Thailand, March 28, 2019- Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. joined the Carbon Business Indicator Seminar organized by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) at Pathumwan Princess Hotel in Bangkok. Established in 2007, the TGO is a public organization with a vision to garner effective management of greenhouse gas emissions to support development in Thailand’s economy, environmental conservation and society. The TGO seminar aimed to recognize the private sector’s role in fulfilling responsible consumption and production while taking climate action.

The TGO seeks to promote its carbon index as a key criterion for investment decisions in Thailand’s capital market and thus leverage the balance in Economic, Social and Governance (ESG) with environmental aspects among stakeholders in the business sector. Ms. Aonthip Aorthong, Delta Senior Executive of Sustainable Development, joined over 30 representatives from leading companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).

At the seminar, Dr. Pongwipa Lorsomboon, Deputy Director of TGO, outlined the carbon index evaluation process which includes public disclosures and official reports from listed participant companies. The company must implement ESG policies and mechanisms for proper target setting and reporting practice. Besides the carbon index, Delta also participates in the TGO Low Emission Support Scheme (LESS) since 2013.

Since 2010, Delta’s integrated management system team has prepared an annual Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report which forms the basis of the company’s inclusion in the international Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) list. Delta is the first electronics company in Thailand to comply with ISO14064.

In 2017, the company won awards for projects that helped reduce 2,800 tons of annual CO2 emissions. Delta’s energy-saving technology and green solutions enhance its environment-related actions and help it deliver on its brand promise: Smarter. Greener. Together.
